What does this mean?
This standard meaning translates to the student's understanding of the structure of an algebraic expression that contains terms, factors, and coefficients.
Example: If a student were given the following expression, 2x + y + 3z, they would be able to identify the coefficients and variables used, as well as how many terms there are.
Students would also be able to identify how to rewrite an expression and understand that would be equivalent to the original expression.
Example: 2x + y + 3z is the same as 3z + 2x + y
