Why should EFL students read English books?
Good things happen to students who read a great deal in the foreign language. Research studies show they become better and more confident readers, they write better, their listening and speaking abilities improve, and their vocabularies become richer. In addition, they develop positive attitudes toward and increased motivation to study the new language.

Should students use dictionaries while reading?
According to Bamford and Day , fluent reading is hindered by a reader stopping to use a dictionary. (1998 p. 93) Using dictionaries can double the time it takes to read a short story. Use the Five Finger Rule to help students choose a book on the right level.
No Pain No Gain?? Wrong!! Reading more and easier texts is the true way to gain fluency.
