For 2009 - 2019 Audi A3, A4, A5, Q5, AMI MMI MIB systems from Halo Motors
Typical steps, verify each before proceeding to the next:
Install the "main module" in the front using supplied harness, red LED should be blinking with ignition on(engine can be off), and the black reverse screen with parking guideline comes on when in "Reverse".
Hook up and test camera in the front before you open up the trunk liners and route wires. Expect to see live camera image in reverse. Now you have it working end to end.
Final installation, make sure NO kink or stress on the camera cable around trunk hinge area with open\close.
See "Other Helpful Online Resources" for info on trim panel removal/wire routing
*** Waring *** to avoid setting off dash Airbag light, do not power on the car with the Passenger airbag indicator light disconnected (on side of screen by hazard light switch on). Airbag light can be cleared with a scan tool from auto repair shop or AutoZone etc.
*** CAUTION *** Main module is powered by included plug and play T-harness to factory HVAC/Climate Control. The same harness also taps into CANBUS data for steering angle and shifter position ** Please DO NOT tap/slice into fuse or anything else for power (as seen in other online videos), **. The red and yellow wires (12V Acc and 12V Constant/Battery) of the camera input cable below are OUTPUT only and should NOT be used (unless to power front camera, for example).
Note:
LVDS cable connects to back of LCD screen, NOT back of radio, see AMI install video below
LVDS harness and camera input harness are identical and can be easily mixed up, please use label on the module to identify them. Camera input on the side of DIP switches.
Use DIP switches on the module to turn off parking sensor display if desired.
Use DIP switches to set front camera display or DVR input
Black Screen, no display at all, most likely item 2 above.

All connections are done behind radio and climate control, DO NOT need to touch the LCD display, see video below.
Audi MMI screen comes in either HI or LOW screen resolution, check label on the camera module and set the correct resolution with DIP switches on the module.

************************
** Audi MIB system may come in different screen resolution, check label on the camera module and match your display using DIP switches.
** All connection are done behind the MMI unit inside the glove box, easier to completely drop the glove box and install module on top of it, because of tight space inside

Other Audi A3 resources:
** our kits are newer, so please DO NOT TAP INTO fuse box as shown in videos below, as that may damage the module. One of the most common question is our KIT does NOT come with fuse tap or tan/brown connector to fuse panel by glove box, that is by design as fuse tap is *** not NEEDED ***

Convertible Camera:
All System:
First make sure the red LED on the module is blinking - it means the module is communicating with CANBUS system correctly (counter-intuitive we know)
No camera image - switches on reverse fine with parking guideline
Camera needs power: make sure the purple rear cam power is sending +12v on reverse via the red wire along the long camera cable to the camera. On the camera end, red to red via the little power plug, or can cut it off and hardwire it.
Parking sensors overlay on screen - on certain system you can turn it off with DIP switch on the module. If you're car is equipped with sensors and is 2013+, sensor date will show up just like factory ones
Front camera doesn't stay on - that's by default, front camera comes on for about 10 sec when shift into Park. Set it to DVR mode to manually control front camera. See guide for settings.
Airbag light come on after install: you powered on the car during installation with the passenger airbag light disconnected. It has to be cleared with a scan tool. To avoid that, connect the airbag indicator light back before you turn on the car to test
AMI Camera Kit:
Black Screen, no display at all, no factory radio display
LVDS output should connect to back of LCD Screen, NOT back of radio (unlike MMI module).
LVDS and Camera input harness most likely reversed at the module: both use the same white connectors and can easily be mixed up. Make sure LVDS connector DOES NOT go into camera input, check label on the module. Swap them if reversed.
MMI and MIB Camera kit:
Distorted Screen (image either too small or large, multiple camera view, noise lines)
Check DIP switch to make sure it matches your screen resolution. Power off unit completely whenever DIP switch changes.
All test working first, then nothing works after final install
Most like DIP switch changed/moved accidentally when putting it back together
check trunk/hinge area for stressed or pinched wires, make sure enough slack to accommodate trunk hinge operation
** MIB and MMI kits can fit multiple Audi models with different screen resolution and CANBUS command structure, so it's critical to set DIP switch to match your particular model and screen resolution. DIP switch setting is on the module label. Please power cycle the module for new setting to take effect. **
