8th of October 2017 Friends of Surrey Square Park in action
Good day of action following the mini-meeting from last Sunday.
On the menu the need to prune the by now rampant extrusion of the Wild Hedge into the kickabout court.
it was an obligation that we took with the (old) park management and this year have had difficulties in fulfilling
Fortunately Julian and a merry band of volunteers were ready for action!
The weather was clement and all had tea from Sara and good time all around.
In the autumn the hedge produce a good many fruits and berry, here some wild rose hips
Elsewhere in the WildLife Area, the oak had had its first good year growth and is now nearly double the size of when it was replanted during the work in the area three years ego. This year also there a re fungi galore, here some for instance some clump of Coprinopsis_atramentaria.
So thanks to Julian, Pete, Coro, John, Daniel, Sara and everybody else that has shown its love for our little bit of greenery.
