Privacy Policy for 8K player app
Last updated:29 October 2026
8K player app ("the app") is published by [company or owner name] ("we"). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. The app is a media player for playlists you provide. It does not supply any channels, films or series.
Information the app sends to our server
When you first open the app, it registers your device with our website, 8kplayervip.pro, so that your free trial, subscription and playlists can be managed from there. The app sends:
A device identifier in the form of a MAC-style address. It is generated on the device from the Android ID and does not reveal your real hardware address.
A device secret, also generated from the Android ID, that lets the same device reconnect to its account after a reinstall. It is stored on our server only as a hash.
The device model and the app version, to help with support and compatibility.
The server returns a device key, which is displayed in the app together with the MAC address. You use these two values to log in on our website.
Information you give us on the website
When you log in on the website you can add playlists. A playlist is a web address, and for Xtream Codes playlists a username and password, that point to a service you have arranged yourself with a third-party provider. You can also set a parent PIN. This information is stored on our server so that the app can download it to your device. We do not verify, access or use these playlists for any purpose other than delivering them to your device.
Information stored only on your device
The app keeps the following on the device and nowhere else:
The channel list, programme guide and catalogue downloaded from your playlist provider.
Favourites, watch history, resume positions and hidden categories.
Recordings you make, stored on the device, on a USB drive or on a network share you choose.
Your settings.
Streaming and third-party providers
Video is streamed directly from the provider named in your playlist to your device. It never passes through our servers. When you stream, that provider receives your IP address and the requests needed to play its content, under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or the practices of any playlist provider.
What we do not do
We do not use advertising or analytics software in the app.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or payment details through the app.
We do not sell or share your information with third parties, except the hosting provider described below.
Hosting and processing
Our server runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare processes requests on our behalf and may log IP addresses for security and abuse prevention under its own policies. We use the IP address of your device only to limit abuse, for example to cap the number of free trials created from one network.
Retention
Your device record, playlists and subscription history are kept while the device is registered and for up to [12] months after its subscription or trial expires, after which they are deleted. Rate-limiting counters and website sessions are deleted automatically within days. Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete your playlists and change your device key or parent PIN at any time on the website.
You can request deletion of your device record and all associated data by contacting us with your MAC address and device key.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise them.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The parent PIN feature lets account holders restrict access to protected playlists and categories.
Permissions the app requests
The app uses internet access to reach our server and your playlist provider, notifications and exact alarms for scheduled recordings and reminders, a foreground service to keep a recording running, and an optional battery optimisation exemption so recordings are not stopped during standby. None of these grant access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts or files beyond the folder you choose for recordings.
Security
Communication with our server uses HTTPS. Device keys are stored encrypted and device secrets and recovery codes are stored hashed on our server. Playlist credentials are stored so they can be delivered to your device; keep your device key private, since it is what protects your account on the website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced on the website.
