What is an 808 unconference?

@808Uncon #808uncon

An 808 unconference is a participant-driven event. Attendees create the topics then discuss ideas and concepts. Volunteers help organize session topics in focused groupings. Sessions are conversations not presentations. Topics might include project-based learning, teacher leadership, education technology, student agency, social-emotional learning, Nā Hopena A'o, and more.  808 unconferences are free.

There is no keynote speaker, no session presentations, no theme.

What does this look like?  This means participants are given a few minutes to write down topics they'd like to learn about, share about, or discuss. Volunteers create a  grid with room numbers at the top and time slots on the side, then sort and put together common  participant created topics for sessions.
