The Two of Them

Earth and heaven God created

for one to see.

Neither knew what was awaited, –

God set it free.

“There be light,” God said, and so

was given sight and view to know.

The earth will make what heaven loves.

And God, well, God knows.

God divided water so that

waters and cloud

really was to ponder at,

not speaking aloud.

But from heaven there was rain.

And all the rivers healed the pain.

The water gives, the water takes,

and pleasure it makes.

God let ground and water part –

fantastic, to be.

He is God and making art

he wanted, to see

corn and herbs and fruit trees given

by the two of them when even.

Sea and dry land opposites

but holy by wits.

Night and day will fight each other,

spoiling to be.

But the light by God do bother

to free, you see:

By the sunlight day is won,

by moonlight, starlight, night turns on,

together by the sources three

to life God set free.

Fresh as fish is in the water

we want to be.

Birds alike the heaven under

we will be free.

Opposites, but on the ground

are reasons running, creatures sound.

Whenever needs and motives clash

a reason to cash.

God created Adam Eve

to make up the call.

Eve and Adam joined and we,

well, we are them all.

Opposites, though still united,

how is what we have alighted,

What is left is to tell all

that Christ is the call.
