API 560: A Standard for Fired Heaters in Refineries

Fired heaters are essential equipment in refineries, where they provide heat for various processes such as distillation, cracking, reforming, and hydroprocessing. Fired heaters consist of tubes, tube supports, headers, piping, terminals, manifolds, refractory linings, structures, stacks, ducts, breeching, burners, dampers, controls, fans, sootblowers, instruments, and connections. The design, materials, fabrication, inspection, testing, preparation for shipment, and erection of these components are governed by a standard issued by the American Petroleum Institute (API), namely API 560.
