Item #: SCP-3902
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3902 is to be kept in a large empty room since furniture is not needed when not in testing unless requested by guarding personnel. All personnel are to remain at least 1 ft from SCP-3902 and are to wear ear protection at all times. If any personnel fall on SCP-3902, attempts at saving said personnel are allowed. Humming/screaming while in the same room as SCP-3902 is not recommended. SCP-3902 is to remain powered on at all times.
Description: SCP-3902 is a boat motor made in ██-02-████ by the now bankrupt ████████. While active SCP-3902’s propeller will make a screaming like noise sounding identical to the scream of the last person who tried to scream in sync with the motor. Even when powered off, if someone gets too close to the motor the blade will activate in an attempt to cut the person's neck. The sound of the screaming has an overwhelming effect on anyone who heard it to bring their neck closer to blade even when heard through a recording, though the effect has been described as very light and ends once they can no longer hear the screaming. If someone's scream is being used by the motor then their scream has the same effect even to themselves. If the motor has recently been turned off then the screaming will be louder and irritated sounding, it also will have a stronger effect. This increased effect goes away after around five minutes.
Addendum: SCP-3902 was brought to the foundation's attention after there were multiple reported missing persons, all of which once owned the motor and were reported “using it” when they disappeared. The connection between all the cases was made when the company that produced the motor’s CEO committed suicide using the motor's blade. During the first week of containment, SCP-3902 had a scream matching that of ██████ the company's former CEO.
Last week there an incident where a breach caused a power outage for five days, when the motor was turned back on we were quite alarmed when guarding personal started to lunge themselves at SCP-3902 resulting in ██ and two injuries. After asking one of the surviving guards, Mr. █████, he described it has “an overwhelming effect that took almost complete control over me the second Dr. ████████ powered it on”. From this point on SCP-3902 is to have a separate backup generator able to provide power for at least four hours, effective immediately.
One of the D-class told me that while SCP-3902 has his scream, that he didn't hear a scream and rather heard it screaming his name. I am going to see if I can get assigned to SCP-3902 and look into this more. - Dr. █████
