The soundtrack, composed by Harris Jayaraj, consists of six songs including a Chinese track, sung by Chinese singer Wang Hao.[32] It marks the second collaboration of Jayaraj and Murugadoss after the success of Ghajini. Lyrics were penned by Madhan Karky. The audio rights of the album were secured by Sony Music reportedly for a whopping amount.[33] The composition of the soundtrack took place in Singapore.[34] The audio was released on 22 September 2011 in Chennai Trade Centre in a grand manner.[35] The event was hosted by Jai and Anjali, lead pair of Murugadoss' production Engeyum Eppodhum, while Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani, Lakshmi Rai and several international artists performed on stage,[36] which were choreographed by Shobi.[29] Actors Dhanush, Karthi, Jiiva, Jayam Ravi, Vishal and Ram Charan attended the function,[36] with Dhanush releasing the trailer.[29]
Arivu was brought up in Arakkonam, a town 60 kilometres west of Chennai. She has once been nominated at the Filmfare Awards for Best Singer,[4][5] and is known for her distinctive alto voice.[6]

She received critical acclaim for her work in Sudha Kongara Prasad's sports drama film, Irudhi Suttru (2016).[8] Being used as the lead singer for Ritika Singh's North Madras-based boxer character in the film, Dhee recorded two solo songs titled "Ey Sandakaara" and "Usuru Narumbuley".[13] Behindwoods.com stated that the first song was "another classic Santhosh number that gets your attention in no time", while noting the "pathos song by Dhee is a revelation sorts" about the latter.[14][15][16]

It will also mark her first English-language release since debuting in the (Indian) music industry.[22] In March 2023 she debuted in Telugu cinema with the song "Chamkeela Angeelesi" from the movie Dasara. She gained popularity from that song among the Telugu audience.
