☑️ The Seoul Emergency Operations Center (SEOC)
The Seoul Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is the Seoul Metropolitan Government body responsible for firefighting, civil defense, natural disaster response, and emergency rescue services. Opened on March 22, 2002, it consolidated four previously separate facilities (the Firefighting Situation Room, Disaster Policy Headquarters Situation Room, Disaster Situation Room, and Civil Defense Alerting and Control Center) into a single integrated command post.
Handling roughly two million 119 calls and 600,000 disaster reports annually, the SEOC serves as Seoul's disaster control tower through its ICT-based Integrated Emergency Management System (IEMS), supported by initiatives such as the Seoul Fire Safety Map and the Golden Time Rule (2016).
