Smart Cities, Shared Disaster Safety:
Global partnerships, knowledge exchange, AI in practice, early warning, recovery planning
The Asian Conference on Urban Disaster Reduction (ACUDR) started in 2012 to widely exchange academic and social information on urban disaster risk reduction in Asia among related academic societies in the countries.
The 7th ACUDR in 2026 will be held in Seoul, South Korea, under the theme Smart Cities, Shared Disaster Safety, focusing on global partnerships, knowledge exchange, AI in practice, early warning, and recovery planning.
The purpose of this international conference is to advance shared disaster safety in smart cities through strengthened global collaboration. It serves as a platform for partnerships across countries and sectors to exchange actionable knowledge on urban hazards, emergency operations, and recovery practice. By connecting real world needs with AI in practice, the conference promotes reliable early warning, rapid impact understanding, and decision support that can be adopted in day to day operations. It also provides a venue to discuss practical pathways for recovery planning that links risk reduction, preparedness, and long term resilience. The conference offers an opportunity for not only researchers but also practitioners, public agencies, and diverse stakeholders to build shared solutions and shape safer urban futures together.
