Today was our first official team meeting! 10 students showed up with 4 mentors and 2 chaperones. We went over 2017's FRC Challenge along with finalizing our name as Team Infinity

Today we went to the Detroit School of Arts and watched FRC's video about the game for 2018. They introduced the rookie teams (including us). Then, we went to another building in freezing cold weather to see the prototypes of the game pieces, like the exchange station, switch, and scale. Later, we attended a workshop to organize the six weeks of work we have to build our robot. We waited for cheese pizza because they ran out very quickly (as you can guess, there were a lot of people there;)) However, some members got to the pizza and didn't have to wait.

Today we are headed off to the U of M Ann Arbor to start working on our chassis. Hopefully we get there safely.

But unfortunately, our tire popped in the middle of the freeway. We had a one hour delay, but still got there to assemble the chassis. It took all day, and we were all worn out by the time we got home. It was our last day of winter break, as well.

133 pages of rules to read :( .

The bearing on one of the wheels popped out, so we had to hammer it back in. Finally, the chassis was assembled.

We had a chassis but nothing else on the robot for it to function in the competition. So our mentors told us to come up with ideas and design for the robot. We divided ourselves into groups and started brainstorming ideas. Each group presented their ideas, and we tried to come to a conclusion.

We had an opportunity to have a workplace at Bridge Academy West, thanks to our mentors. We got the news about it yesterday, and we moved in today.

January 12, 2018

In today's workshop, we tried to come up with different ideas. We looked at other robots and tried to come up with similar ideas for our robots. Today was special, since we celebrated three of our members' birthdays: Hamza, Tashnim, and Mihran.

January 13, 2018

We chose our team captains today!!! The two captains of team 7168 are Hamza and Tashnim. There were other votes for sub-captains for each department of the workshop.

It was an easy yet difficult day. We had to come up with our designs and ideas for tasks we want to accomplish during the game. The programming department was working on programming the robot.

February 20, 2018

The team was very tired, but we stayed until midnight and bagged the robot.

March 6, 2018

We unbagged the robot and used 3 of the 6 hours allowed to work on it. We also put the blue and red fabric on the bumpers and tried to figure out a way to mount them on the robot.

March 7, 2018

Today we used the 3 hours we had remaining to work on the robot. We weighed the bumpers to make sure they were within the guidelines of the FRC Inspection Checklist. Tomorrow we're going to Waterford to set up our pit.

The team competes on Friday and Saturday. Hopefully we do well!
