Level Basic is an opportunity to learn the basics of bandmanship, you will learn basic pieces and scales. Simple and comprehensible music theory. Recommended for brand new players.
Cadets in Level I will develop a more in depth understanding of their instruments and will begin playing both major and minor scales. Theory becomes harder but is still at a very understandable level. Recommended for Novice level players.
In Level II Cadets will be faced with more scales and more challenging pieces they will begin to push themselves as they learn to play with beautiful tone and strategies to improve articulations. Theory will become more difficult. Recommended for people who have been playing for over a year.
In Level III you will be challenged with lengthy pieces and a large selection of scales. Theory classes will be more difficult. In Level III you might also get the responsibility of being a section leader or teaching theory classes. More than anything you will mentor and give advice to those in lower levels. Recommended for Intermediate players
Level IV is when cadets become advanced players, you will start to notice very challenging pieces along with a very large selection of scales. you will learn thing such as double and triple tonguing as you advance further in your musical career. Level IV cadets will most likely be assigned a specific cadet to mentor and to work with you may also be assigned with the task of teaching theory lessons. Recommended for Advanced bandsman.
Level V is the highest level in the cadet music programme and is therefore the most difficult to obtain. You will begin to find extremely hard pieces and will have to learn strategies to deal with complex rhythms. In Level V you will be assigned to mentor cadets and you might get the chance to conduct the band and be a section leader. Recommended for Very Advanced bandsmen.
