We are the 715 Mohawk ceremonial brass and reed band, and the Band flight for the 715 Mohawk Squadron

Why should I join Band?

There are many reasons that a cadet may want to join band. These include but are not limited to:

Music Level badges (Which are equivalent to Royal Conservatory of Music Levels)
Learning to play an instrument
Learning specialized drill
Having fun!
Going in parades and representing the squadron and city
Did I mention fun?
A squadron provided instrument
Taking part in the best flight in the squadron (The Band just won the Warrant Officer's award for best flight in 2017)

What Instruments do you have to offer?

Here at the squadron we offer many types of instruments ranging from woodwind to brass to percussion (sorry string players) depending on availability we offer:

Tenor Drums
Cymbals

We might not have availability on your instrument of choice. That being said, buying or renting an instrument is very helpful and it is potentially a great investment for a cadet and his/her family.

How to join Band:

Joining the band here at the squadron is very simple! To join all you must do is see one of our band officers and ask to join. From there you will simply show up at the Leigon from 1700-2100 on Monday evenings.

When you arrive you will fill out a form with questions like: Do you have musical experience? What instrument do you play? How long have you been doing drill? Do you have your own instrument? After we ask these questions we will provide you with an instrument and once you receive it you are officially part of the band!
