Scope:

The celebrated Tanabe-Sugano papers were published in Journal of the Physical Society of Japan in 1954 [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 9, 753-766 (1954); J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 9, 766-779 (1954)]. The year of 2024 corresponds to the 70th year after the publication. Even today, the Tanabe-Sugano diagrams provide significant impact in broad research fields of science. In order to commemorate the classic Tanabe-Sugano papers, and to discuss the current and future scientific topics and trends related to the Tanabe-Sugano diagrams, we are organizing an international conference “70 years of the Tanabe-Sugano diagrams” in Tokyo.
