UIL Academics
The UIL Academic Competition this year takes place around the week after Thanksgiving break. Students in all three grades, that would like to participate, sign up and try out for teams starting the first week of September. Once on a team, students practice their skills in order to compete against the other schools in the area. At the academic meet, students who place within the top six for each event will be awarded a medal or ribbon. There are many different teams students can try out for. Each one showcases a different academic skill.
One Act Play
Each year, 8th-grade students are able to try out for One Act Play. We do not have theater as an elective, so practices for One Act will all be after school. Sign-ups start around the first week of February. Tryouts are held and those that make it will be notified. Mrs. DeLuna and I are the directors of the play.
