Alderwoman Aprel Prunty is a lifelong resident of Rockford’s 6th Ward and has dedicated her career to education and public service. Born and raised in Rockford, Aprel has served as a passionate educator for nearly three decades and is a proud member of the Rockford Education Association. Her journey from the classroom to City Council has been driven by a desire to give back to her community and help create positive, lasting change in Rockford.

In her first term, Aprel has worked tirelessly to improve local services, foster economic development, and advocate for fiscal responsibility. She has championed initiatives like new public transportation routes and support for the Coleman Yards redevelopment project, ensuring growth and opportunity for the 6th Ward and Rockford as a whole.
