Welcome to 6th Grade math and science with Mrs. Brown! I am so excited to learn, grow, and have fun this year.
About me
Hello! My name is Mrs. Brown and this is my 11th year here at Center Drive School. My first 3 years were spent in the middle school teaching 7th grade english, I taught 6 years in second grade, and made the jump last year back to the middle school to teach 6th grade math and science.
I was an Orrington Eagle from kindergarten to 8th grade. From there I went to Brewer High School and graduated in 2011. I graduated from Husson in May of 2015 with a concentration in english. I graduated in May of 2023 with my master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maine. I am a huge Red Sox fan, and also a huge Disney fan. I live right here in town with my husband and our beautiful 3 year old daughter Natalie! We also have a Golden Retriever named Charlie. (Get it, Charlie Brown!?)
What you'll need to get started In 6th grade for the 2025-2026 School Year:
A two-inch, three-ring binder (hint: try to avoid the big, bulky, zip-up binders because they will be difficult to fit inside of your desks with the laptop cases).
subject dividers (ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science).
your own box of pencils (the ticonderoga brand are a favorite for us)
a pencil pouch to clip inside of your binder
a calculator
a pair of scissors
a pair of earbuds or headphones
three composition notebooks (for your reading response journal, writer's notebook and Math notebook)
a personal pencil sharpener
