The objective of the programme is to provide strong theoretical background along with practical experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and 6G wireless Communication. In the programme, leaders in the field describe state-of-the-art research in applying the AI based techniques in the context of tomorrow’s most important wireless applications, ranging from next generation cellular telephony and personal communication services, to nomadic computing and wireless multimedia. The programme will expose the faculty members and students with the newer dimensions of the area with their practical approaches to tackle the real life problems in engineering and technology and other related disciplines

National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is one of the premier Educational Institutes in the Northern Regions of the country. It was established in 1960 and has been one of the eighteen Regional Engineering Colleges sponsored by the Govt. of India during the 2nd Plan. The Institute acquired the status of National Institute of Technology with deemed to be University status during August, 2003 and attained full autonomy in its Academics.The Institute is situated at the the banks of world-famous Dal Lake, with the farfamed Hazratbal Shrine on other side of the campus. NIT Srinagar is a residential Institute with accommodation facility in Hostels and StaffQuarters. There are four Boys and one Girls hostel which swallops about 1500 boys and 200 girls. Besides running the B.Tech Programme the Institute also offers M.Tech programme in many streams.In addition to that a large number of students are registered for M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes. The Institution has an Industry Interaction cell which was established in 1989 with the aim to remain at the fore-front on the Scientific and Technological development and to share its experience with industries in utilising. Man-power and other resources are available at the institute effectively with the assistance of the participating industries.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in 1984 and offers B.Tech Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, M.Tech Degree in (1) Microelectronics (ME) and (2) Communication and Information Technology (CIT). It aims to produce quality professionals in this field to compete globally and excel by carrying out basic and applied research in emerging areas by forging strong industry-institute interaction. The Department also offers the Doctoral programmes in the field of Biometrics, Communication, Microelectronics, Signal/Image Processing, Machine learning, network security and VLSI Design. The department is equipped with contemporary laboratory equipments required for the excellent growth of students. The department has state of art labs including VLSI Lab, Optical fiber communication Lab, Image Processing Lab, Information and Network Security Lab, Biometric Lab and machine learning Lab. Prof. Ajaz Hussain Mir is the Present Head of Department. The real strength of the department lies in its qualified, dedicated and motivated faculty.
