Call for papers
Despite the tremendous improvement in certain KPIs brought by 5G networks, such as the increase in the experienced data rates and decrease in the latency, certain applications like hologram communications, extended reality (XR), sensing, etc., still face considerable difficulties or cannot be supported by the current infrastructure. This drives the need for development of the new cellular network generation, 6G, to meet the stringent traffic requirements of these services/applications. Furthermore, different ever-increasing in popularity areas/concepts, such as AI, network softwarization, etc., enable the network to provide a wider range of capabilities while acting flexibly and smartly. The 6G architecture is also expected to evolve in order to support such emerging technological trends. This workshop should serve as a forum to discuss both mature results as well as initial ideas on the directions to follow in 6G networks in terms of emerging technologies, architectural enhancements, and applications. Submissions are welcome both from academia and industry.
Contributions from the following areas, but not limited to, are solicited:
• AI for networks
• Network programmability
• Holographic communications
• Extended reality
• Joint communications and sensing
• End-to-end network sustainability
• Digital Twins in networking
• In-network computing
• Mobility management in challenging environments
• Network slicing
The papers should not have been submitted elsewhere. All submissions should be written in English, and should be limited to 6 pages, plus a maximum of 2 additional pages can be purchased. Therefore, each paper cannot exceed 8 pages. The submitted manuscript should be in IEEE conference format (single-spaced, double-column format), including references and appendices, in PDF format. The process will be single-blind, meaning that the authors can show their names and affiliations. For more details on the author guideline, please check http://www.wimob.org/wimob2025/guidelines.php.
All the presented papers will be published in the WiMob 2025 proceedings and will be sent for inclusion in the IEEE eXplore digital library.
For details on the registration, please check http://www.wimob.org/.
