The Municipal Planning and Development Office is supervised by the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator assisted by three regular staff which include the Planning Officer II, Planning Officer I and the Administrative Assistant II handling separate tasks and one COS Administrative Assistant II (GIS Mapper).

Office Function
The office is mandated to provide planning, investment programming, monitoring and evaluation services in the formulation of policies, plan, programs, projects and activities of the municipal government. Specifically, the office facilitates the preparation of plans and programs of the municipality as the main technical arm of the LGU of the local development council. The office also serves as the repository of planning and other related documents and is involved the provision of mapping services to all requesting clients. Aside from the office mandates as per Local Government Code of 1991, the office is also entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating and implementing skills training programs in the municipality.
Specific Functions:
The Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) is mandated to perform the following:
a. Formulate integrated economic, social, physical and other development plans and policies for consideration of the Municipal Development Council;
b. Conduct continuing studies, researches and training programs necessary to evolve plans and programs for implementation;
c. Integrate and coordinate all sectoral plans and studies undertaken by the different functional groups or agencies;
d. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the different development programs, projects and activities of the municipality;
e. Prepare comprehensive plans and other development planning documents for consideration by the Municipal Development Council;
f. Analyze the income and expenditure patterns, formulate and recommend fiscal plans and policies for consideration by the Municipal Finance Committee;
g. Promote people participation on development planning within the municipality;
h. Exercise such other powers, duties and functions as maybe prescribed by law or ordinance.
