How we Connect with our community!
Venom connects with Austin Energy
8/27/24 - During the virtual meeting, the team gained valuable insights into the energy industry and discussed the intersections of robotics and sustainable energy solutions.
Power system supervising engineer Mr. Kevin Chandra from Austin Energy, shared his expertise on how emerging technologies, including robotics, are playing a critical role in energy efficiency and infrastructure development. The session inspired our team to explore innovative ways to apply robotics in real-world energy challenges, strengthening the team's commitment to STEM and community collaboration.
Laura Welch Bush Elementary School
We visited grades K-3rd at Laura Welch Bush Elementary to promote a love for STEM at an early age. With hands-on interactive activities such as SkribbleBots, we were able to engage our students with simple and understandable design concepts. By explaining all the challenges in FIRST, we were able to promote STEM involvement and excitement for the field of robotics.
We continue to mentor 3rd-5th grade FLL teams at the elementary school, teaching them about the foundations of FIRST and the basics of game strategy and robot-gameplay.
VenomByte Software Workshops
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Venom decided to create "VenomByte", a workshop designed to spread a passion for programming around the world. Thus far, we have connected with 11 schools from the Philippines and introduced them to Scratch by MIT. We incorporated detailed lesson plans into each workshop with the help of our software team's assistance.
With over 5 workshops taught throughout the season, we were able to increase the difficulty of software topics and ensure a deeper understanding of the material.
The workshops were successful and we formed special bonds with the amazing and diverse communities, despite the distance.
