Room 219 - Engineering with Paper: How to Make Amazing Project with Simple Supplies

Access to supplies is often a barrier to learning yet amazing projects can be made with just paper, tape and scissors.  You will learn to confidently guide students through innovative, creative, curriculum-based STEAM projects. This workshop will get you cutting, folding, connecting and building in a matter of minutes, and be ready to implement new activities with students immediately.

This session highlights the ITEEA PreK-12 solution for Integrative STEM - Engineering byDesign (EbD)™  offers curricula designed to be equitable, and achievable by all enabling all students to be technologically and engineering literate. This is based on the STEL, NGSS, CCSS Math/ELA, and the NAE's Grand Challenges for Engineering. It highlights a sequence of learning offered to all PreK-12.

This presentation on the NYSED CTE program approval process provides guidance on the components that are required to obtain CTE program approval. The presentation is designed to inform first-time applicants of the advantages and responsibilities of delivering a NYSED-approved CTE program.

This presentation will introduce the attendees to Tech Wars, provide relevant information and support to groups or individual Technology & Engineering educators to develop a local Tech Wars event with the eventual goal of having statewide competitions.

This session will give an overview of what the Drone Tech program looks like at the Liverpool High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. Room 206 - Using 3D Printing (and your students) to Organize Your Lab 

Nate Smith - Elmira High School
3D printers have become a staple of the Tech Ed classroom... and the students love them! But what else can we do with them? In this presentation, you will see how I took an idea presented a few years ago and turned it into a class project that teaches the concepts of the Design Process, Measuring & Tolerances, CAD and Design for Manufacturing, all while having my students organize my tools for me.

This session will explore current Commissioner’s Regulations, how to leverage technology education to meet diploma requirements, and the resources available from the Office of Career and Technical Education and the CTE Technical Assistance Center.
