6.1.3 Jailbreak

But the update also patched several holes that Evasi0n exploited to perform an untethered jailbreak on all iOS devices, including the latest iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. People who upgrade to iOS 6.1.3 will no longer be able to use Evasi0n to jailbreak their devices. And once on 6.1.3, newer Apple devices cannot be downgraded to a previous iOS version.

Older Apple devices powered by an A4 or earlier processor can still be hacked using the latest version of Redsn0w, according to Redmond Pie. Those include such products as the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, and the fourth-generation iPod Touch. The downside here is that the jailbreak is a tethered one. So if your mobile device powers down, you'll need to reconnect it to your computer to run the jailbreak again.

But I found a few references to iOS 6.1.3. It seems this was the first version of iOS to allow OTA (Over The Air) updates to iOS. So Apple allowed 6.1.3 to be manually installed via USB (so that devices running earlier versions could update, and then update to the latest version over the air).

Doing a bit more reading, it seemed Apple had stopped signing 6.1.3 a few months ago, possibly due to a security bug in iCloud on iOS 6 that they wanted to avoid being exploited? Details were a bit vague.

Anyway, this issue suggested changing the Phoenix5.ipa filename to .zip, expanding it, opening the Payload folder, showing the package contents, editing Info.plist, changing the Bundle Display Name to remove the dodgy character, saving, re-zipping the Payload folder, and renaming back to .ipa. Then the signing worked, and I had the Phoenix jailbreak app on my iPad!

After I did that, I had a factory-reset device running iOS 6.1.3. It seems to be stock iOS, signed by Apple with no jailbreak (although I believe there are iOS 6 jailbreaks that could be installed). But I want it nice and clean, for my museum :-)

The jailbreak for iOS 6 was one of the most difficult to come by for the hacking community. A tethered jailbreak for older devices hit shortly after Apple launched the OS, but an untethered jailbreak seemed like it was never going to happen. Of course, the evad3rs crew eventually made it happen with the evasi0n jailbreak tool. Not long after it came out, Apple already has iOS 6.1.3 in beta, which is set to fix at least one of the exploits used for the evasi0n jailbreak.

David Wang, one of creators of the evasi0n jailbreak, tested the beta of iOS 6.1.3 and, in a statement to Forbes, he confirmed that Apple successfully fixed at least one of the five exploits used to make evasi0n a success.

Of course, the jailbreak community, David Wang included, is not one to give up easily, and he is currently digging through iOS 6.1.3 looking for a possible exploit to keep jailbreaking it a reality. It is also likely that Apple will not release the final version of iOS 6.1.3 to users for at least another month, if the company sticks to its usual release schedule, so users will be blissfully able to jailbreak their devices for at least a little while longer.

Wang also claimed that there are bugs not used in the evasi0n jailbreak that he and his team were hoping to keep secret for the next jailbreak. If Apple were to fix those bugs, the team would be starting from scratch, which means we could be looking at another long wait for a jailbreak of future versions of iOS.

After all, this is the same developer that worked on an iOS 6.x downgrade, the jailbreak tweak Accentify, and has had various other contributions to the community. Needless to say, when he announced that he had an untether binary that still needed a bit of work, my ears perked up.

Step 1 Launch Cydia and add repo: to enter KDFU mode (Please check the detailed tutorial). Only when your iDevice is in KDFU mode, you can downgrade to iOS 6.1.3. Please make sure your iDevice is in KDFU mode, then continue to downgrade. For iPad 2,4, you can refer this tutorial to enter KDFU mode: How to Enter KDFU Mode Using Futurerestore?

Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14 is now available for download. iH8sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14 with added support for iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak for A4 iOS devices. This latest version of jailbreak tool not only brings tethered jailbreak to A4 devices, but it also supports APTicket validation, in light of the recent issues with APTickets.

If you own a pre-A5 iOS devices such as iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4G and looking for a way to jailbreak it, the recent jailbreak tool version is your ticket to freedom. Please note that Sn0wbreeze is available for Windows OS only.

Sn0wbreeze is a jailbreak tool that allows you to create custom firmware (IPSW) file, similar to PwnageTool. This custom firmware can then be restored to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone, iPad, or the iPhone Touch. The code of Sn0wbreeze is written in C# and is developed by iH8Sn0w. To restore a custom firmware created with it, you will need a version of iTunes older than 11.1 because with any newer iTunes version Apple rehashes the firmware IPSW file before restoring.

Windows users have been waiting for the untethered iOS 6.1.3, 6.1.4 and 6.1.5 jailbreak since its release for Mac on December 30. The untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 - iOS 6.1.5 p0sixspwn for Windows has finally been released by winocm, SquiffyPwn, and iH8sn0w.

It has been reported by winocm that the Windows version is a more stable than the Mac version of this untethered iOS 6.1.x jailbreak. For the users, who have had trouble jailbreaking their devices on Mac, can now try it using the Windows version.

After 43 days of jailbreaking frenzy, Apple has closed the cell doors again. The latest 6.1.3 update to iOS released Tuesday includes a patch that prevents the use of the hacking tool evasi0n, which since early February has become the most popular program ever for "jailbreaking" phones and tablets to remove their software restrictions.

In the six weeks since evasi0n was released, however, close to 18 million devices have already been jailbroken, according to data from Jay Freeman, the administrator of the Cydia app store for jailbroken devices. He says he's counted 18.2 million unique devices running iOS 6 visiting Cydia, including 13.8 million iPhones, 3.4 million iPads, and 1.1 million iPod Touches. Those numbers vastly exceed previous jailbreaks such as Jailbreakme 3, a popular hacking tool for iOS released in the summer of 2011 that was used on around 2 million devices, according to a count at the time by creator Nicholas Allegra.

That means any user who updates to iOS 6.1.3 will lose the ability to jailbreak his or her phone for months or possibly years to come. But Wang says there's still no fix available to jailbreakers for the lockscreen vulnerability that's also patched in this update. So any jailbreak fan who foregoes Apple's latest update should also take extra care not to let their phone out of their sight.

Today we have the most waited good news from the Team. They have released a new version of the famous UJB Tool that can jailbreak all iPhones 5/4/4S/3GS iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 Untethered. Finally, we have hit that good time once again in the jailbreak moments when we can all breathe a huge relief and raise a glass to the jailbreak team while we overload their websites attempting to download and install the new and shiny update that will provide our devices with freedom. Yes, it's right, starting today 15 may, we are able to jailbreak iPhone 5/4/4S/3GS iOS 6.1.3 untethered.

One good advantage of the software is that the jailbreaking and unlocking process is completely reversible and there will be no evidence that the iPhone has been jailbroken and unlocked . iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 comes with many new features and updates for multitasking and storage. By unlocking and jailbreaking the iPhone, unleash unlimited possibilities to improve this already fantastic experience and the iPhone FULL potential.

Before going through any jailbreak process with Unlock-Jailbreak it is always good housekeeping to perform a full backup of all information on the device. It is unlikely that anything will go wrong during the process but when undertaking any process that modifies the internals of a file system it is always prudent to err on the side of caution.

Apple has released security updates for iOS with an update to version 6.1.3, designed to resolve a bug that allows anyone to bypass the lockscreen on a passcode-protected iPhone. Before the fix, hackers could have potentially accessed your phone application, looked through photos on the device, listened to your voice mails, and placed calls. This software update fixes six flaws altogether, affecting iPhone 3GS and later, iPod touch (4th generation) and later, and iPad 2 and later.

Well this days, after testing the tool on his iPhone 5/4 running the latest iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 firmware, a known member has confirmed via Twitter that AppleUnlocker is working that ultimately means that we all are now free to update your iOS devices to iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3. With the iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 untethered jailbreak being finished and successfully tested, the team have included the tool with exploits in the new version of AppleUnlocker tool that was introduced to all users as a unlock and jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 untethered working on iPhone 5/4/4S/3Gs and iPad 2/3. One of the main benefits of the tool is taht the simplicity of the interface, with guidance is provided all the way with a few clicks to get the job finished. 0852c4b9a8
