This year, the Mathematics Department at PUC-Rio celebrates its 60th anniversary. Throughout its existence, our Department has emerged as a national and international reference in research and teaching, including programs devoted to school teachers (Profmat) and math olympiads.

To honor this significant milestone, and to highlight pivotal contributions which shaped our history, we are organizing four events: an International Conference, a Teaching Event, a Profmat Meeting and a Math Olympiad Event.

The International Conference Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Department of Mathematics - PUC-Rio will take place from the 12th to the 14th of August, 2026, at the RDC Auditório - PUC-Rio.  It will feature approximately 15 plenary speakers, with participation from leaders working in various research areas of pure and applied mathematics.
