It was the dawn of the 5.5th age of mankind – ten years after the Greyhawk Wars

Greyhawk 591 "“Hear ye, Hear ye! An imperial cartographer is establishing an exploration outpost to map a new region where the mortal races, giants and dragons warred against each other for centuries.”

The stone giants have retreated back into the Cairn Hills and have not been seen since the Greyhawk Wars ten years ago. After a thousand years, their cliffside citadels and forts stand abandoned. The land is scarred with ancient battlefields where armies of Greyhawk tried to defend against the warring giants and dragons.

An imperial cartographer is building a tower, Titan Watch, by a remote fishing village to map these new sites and unearth their history. 

Despite the treacherous trek to get here, archaeologists, relic-hunters and fortune seekers have started arriving. You stand in the busy village square having equipped yourself at the general store. The spring sun is shining down and folk are going about their business when the peace is suddenly shattered…
