Practical information 

By train:
From Lisbon Airport,  you will need to go to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente) from where you can take the train. You can get there either by underground metro (red line) or taxi — the trip takes around 10 minutes. Trains to Coimbra depart about every hour, and the journey takes roughly 2 hours.

Coimbra has one train station: Coimbra-B (Estação Velha – Old Station), where all long-distance trains stop.

You can check timetables and ticket prices on the CP – Portuguese Trains website. Trains such as Alfa Pendular and Intercidades are the fastest and most comfortable options.

By bus:
From Lisbon Airport, you will need to go to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente) from where you can take the bus. You can get there either by underground metro (red line) or taxi — the trip takes around 10 minutes. Once at the Oriente station, you have two options: 

• Rede Expressos: Buy your ticket online here, select departure "Lisboa (Oriente)" and arrival "Coimbra" (There are also options departing from the airport, but the schedule is limited).

• FlixBus: Buy your ticket online here, select departure "Lisboa" and arrival "Coimbra" (There are also options departing from the airport, but the schedule is limited).

By shuttle transfer:
The Coimbra Airport Shuttle offers a reliable door-to-door transfer service between Coimbra and the airports of Lisbon and Porto. Multiple daily departures are available, and advance booking is required.

By train:
From Porto Airport, you will need to go to the Campanhã Station (Estação Campanhã), from where you can take the train. You can reach it by metro (purple line) or taxi in about 30 minutes. Trains to Coimbra run several times a day, and the trip takes around 1.5 hours.

As in Lisbon, all trains stop at Coimbra-B.

By Bus:
From Porto Airport, you will need to go to Campanhã Bus Terminal (Terminal Intermodal de Campanhã), from where you can take the bus. You can reach it by metro (purple line) or taxi in about 30 minutes. Once at the Campanhã Bus Terminal, you have two options:

• Rede Expressos: Buy your ticket online here, select departure "Porto (Campanhã)" and arrival "Coimbra."

• FlixBus: Buy your ticket online here, select departure "Porto" and arrival "Coimbra" (There are also options departing from the airport, but the schedule is limited).

By shuttle transfer:
The Coimbra Airport Shuttle also provides door-to-door transfers between Coimbra and Porto Airport, with multiple daily services. Advance reservation is recommended.
