The study of how our country began is the focus of study in fifth grade. We will start with the study colonization and the development of the Thirteen Colonies. As the colonist began to grow they wanted to become a country of their own, this caused the beginning of the American Revolution. This is an exciting event in history to study. Will end with Westward Expansion as we look at how the United States grew as the country gained independence and sought land west of the Appalachian Mountains.
