About us

500 Women Scientists is a grassroots organisation started by four women in 2016. Today it has grown to include several 1000s of women across the globe with a mission to promote a diverse and inclusive scientific community that brings a progressive science-based solution to both global and local challenges.

At Birmingham pod, we will develop a support network that will resonate with the mission of 500 women Scientists:

• Empower women to grow to their full potential in science
• Increase scientific literacy through public engagement
• Advocate for science and equality

Although our scientific work may be global, we will take action in the Birmingham pod to work towards an inclusive society where both science and knowledge can be embraced and everyone has the opportunity to reach to their potential.
