Meet the four‑legged adventurers leading our 50 for 50 challenge! These enthusiastic, tail‑wagging captains are guiding us along every new walk, sniffing out excitement, greeting friends, and keeping spirits high as we celebrate 50 years of Sobell House.

Hi, I'm Toby

Toby joined his forever family after travelling all the way from a Romanian shelter at just six months old. Now 1.5 years old, he’s a joyful blend of 13 different breeds — including livestock guardian dogs, German Shepherd, Italian hound, and even a little Pomeranian!

With boundless energy and a huge heart, Toby is living his best life in Oxfordshire. He goes on three hour‑long walks every day, greeting every human, dog, bird, cyclist, and mildly interesting leaf along the way. Sociable doesn’t even begin to cover it — Toby believes the whole world is his friend, and he approaches every walk with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a wagging tail that never quits.

He’s proud to serve as one of the official captains for the 50 for 50 challenge, leading the way with zooms, sniffs, and a whole lot of charm.

Hi, I'm Lola aka The Worm

I am Lola.

My original name was Tania but I didn’t like it. I am known as The Worm as I am always squirming around, normally upside down on my head.

I am a rescue dog from Spain and I am faster than Grease Lightening when I run! I am around 8 years old and am a Malinois/Podenco cross.

I will be one of the main dogs taking part in this challenge and I really like walking with Toby.

I love eating salmon and lying upside down on my sofa. I also like singing.

I took part in OxTrail and I may well dress up for this challenge as well!

We're the BOOKENDs - Poppet & Lilah

Hello,

We are sisters and our nickname is The Bookends. Our real names are Poppet and Lilah. We travelled from Macedonia as tiny pups and are now living our best lives!

We are a bonded pair of sisters and we love bouncing!

We love our garden and watching television. We don’t know what breed we are but certainly a bit of terrier.

We like challenges and we are taking this one on, with our usual enthusiasm. This will involve jumping, bouncing and generally having lots of fun!

Hi, I'm Lils

My real name is Lily but Lils is cooler!

I arrived a few years ago at my house as a rescue dog. I was pretty scared of everything but my human Ade, has taught me how to be confident and now I am ready to take on the world!

I love food and I like it when Ade carries me around.

This will be a real challenge for me but I will do my very best on the walks that I go on.

I have unusual markings, it looks like someone has dipped their thumb in ink and then onto my head. My human says I am beautiful!

Hi, I'm Amina aka The Queen

Well, I thought I’d better join this challenge once Lola told me about it! Lola and I are best friends.

I came from Romania over seven years ago. I was handpicked by my owner from millions of dogs — he has good taste!

Every day, I walk around different places in Oxfordshire. I’m called The Queen, as all the land I walk on belongs to me.

I am a Romanian shepherd cross, and I travel around in one of my two vans.

My human is my servant. He knows it — but you know what? He is my world, just as I am his.
