Data safety

Data collected

No user data is collected. Data that this app may collect

Location - When enabled the 4x4Mon App uses background location data  to calculate the device speed. It can also store GPS location data into a local CSV log file. 

Sensor data - When enabled the 4x4Mon App can store censor data into a local CSV log file.

CSV log file format (Located in the Downloads directory of the Mobile device)

Date, speed, latitude, longitude, altitude, water temp, temp1, temp2, water pressure, battery1, battery2, EGT, oil pressure, turbo boost 

The user may upload the log file to a PC for further processing. 

Comparing sensor data and GPS location data for a know vehicle track can be useful when vehicle tuning is done. 

Data shared

User data accessed by this app is only processed locally on the user’s device and not sent off device 

Background location data are not shared with any other parties, but it can be stored in a local log file

This App uses Bluetooth to send and receive sensor data from a paired 4x4Mon controller (Engine monitor installed in a vehicle)

This App does not share any data via Wifi or Mobile networks

Security practices

Sensor data is sent over Bluetooth, between the 4x4Mon controller and this App is in clear text (not encrypted)

Data stored in the local log file is in clear text, CSV format (not encrypted). The data is only accessible on the Android device itself
