Can I walk instead of run?
Yes, absolutely! This race is built around the 4-H pillars: Head, Heart, Hands, and Health! Whether you are running, walking, or are just out for a nice stroll, we would love to have you join us on the course!
Can I register on race day?
Yes! Race day registration will be available as long as we have not sold out all of our race bibs. However, we strongly recommend registering at least three weeks before the race to guarantee a shirt. Cash is preferred for race day registration, otherwise you will be directed to the online payment system through "RunSignup" which offers credit, debit, and Apple Pay options.
What is the parking situation?
There will be youth council members guiding you as you enter the Madison County Fairgrounds on race day! Please drive slow and follow their instructions. Free parking is available on the grass behind the 4-H food stand, just a short walk from the start line. We recommend arriving early to allow time for parking and check-in if you are not able to attend packet pickup.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers are allowed, but we ask that stroller participants start toward the back for safety. Children who are in the stroller do not need to be registered as it is assumed they will not be participating in the race.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome, though we recommend checking the course surface and ensuring your dog is comfortable with the crowd size.
What happens if it rains?
The race will happen rain or shine! In the event of severe weather (like lightning or unsafe conditions), we’ll notify participants via email and social media with updates or changes.
Is the race timed?
Yes! All registered participants will receive a bib upon registration. We operate with a stopwatch timing system, so there is one start time for every individual participant. We keep track of when each finisher crosses the finish line as results will be posted online after the race is completed.
