Just after getting on after I-40
I don't know where this is exactly but it's a perfect example of the buttes that form in Arizona if you look in the distance. We looked over, made some jokes about the name of that formation and then took some pictures. Thought it was pretty cool!
Learned a little bit about Sedona while we passed by these signs. Apparently there's some weird conspiracy theories around it with "energy vortexes" and all that weird stuff. Would have loved to visit to see if I could feel this but unfortunately we didn't have time... :(
I also want to point out here that the font used on warning and regulatory signs like these is the same one or similar to the one used for small button copy letters when those were made. See the button copies below for reference
Some more great views when you pass through Prescott
I loved being on these mountains - probably my favorite part of the trip back
Speed Limit 75!!!
Interesting way to do this... I would have expected a normal Type A arrow pointing up to the right but if its a partial cloverleaf of some sort then I guess it makes sense. Definitely not correct at this specific location but it makes sense.
Guess what - this exit has button copy!!!
I know on I-17 north that I said I was surprised that I even found button copy in Arizona in the first place - This sign was a true treasure. It's featured on another page about traffic signs and I thought it was super cool to have found it!
Loved this scene right here. It's wide, but has the image of the mountains surrounding all around.
I want to point out that these signs are using Series E instead of Series E modified. Better than Clearview but still not correct
Back to L-101 at I-17!!! Also note the sign in the bottom right below the ramps. It's button copy, and I don't have a picture of it because I couldn't tell until it was too late.
Still standing SB button copy!!!
More button copy on all three signs
Last three photos all button copy except for the HOV lane sign.
I like this idea but I find it to be a little bit questionable. They're positioned in such a way that you can't see them when entering the ramp, but rather when you're already on the freeway on the wrong side, and the exit is already on the other side of the roadway. If you see this and you're on the left side of the road, then you might as well say your prayers because you cannot cross the median.
Cool bridge. That's all
So these signs might look normal, but they're actually pretty interesting because they're demountable Clearview. I've never seen it before passing by it and I even looked at these before visiting Phoenix. Never did I ever expect to see Demountable Clearview ever
New phone background? thoughts?
