Humanity

Humans, or modern humans (Homo sapiens), are the most common and widespread species of primate. A great ape characterized by their hairlessness, bipedalism, and high intelligence, humans have large brains, enabling more advanced cognitive skills that enable them to thrive and adapt in varied environments, and develop complex societies and civilizations.

This adaptability has enabled humans to develop technologies which have granted them F.T.L.(faster then light) travel and communication, allowing humans to spread and colonize all over the Milky Way.

Most humans live grouped together under the I.G.U(Intra-Galactic union), across various systems and colonized exoplanets.

F.T.L. travel, as well as other technologies, wouldn't be possible had it not been for humanities's mastery of Nuclear fusion, as nuclear fusion was not only an excellent fuel source for powering the innovative future technologies being developed, but also aided in preventing humans from rendering the home planet of humans(earth), uninhabitable. Fusion energy was able to kill off the fossil fuel industry, destroying a major contributor to climate change.

As humans spread across the Milky Way, they discovered many exoplanets which harbored life similar to earth, but they were never able to observe life with comparable intelligence to humans, or identifiable sentience.

That would change one day, as a colony ship made their arrival to a system far out by the edges of the galaxy
