2024 Feb 14(Wed) - 15(Thu) at NAOJ Mitaka, Japan
Rationale
Japanese radio astronomy has rapidly developed over the past 40 years. Since the completion of the Nobeyama 45m radio telescope in 1982, various radio interferometers such as VSOP, VERA, and ALMA have been constructed and provided numerous scientific results. Looking from the present to the future, there are high expectations for groundbreaking and insightful discoveries from EAVN, which combines VERA with radio telescopes from East Asian countries, and SKA currently under construction in South Africa and Australia. In this symposium, we will provide an overview of various radio interferometry projects conducted from the past to the future, and discuss their evolution across different eras and generations.
