We empower individuals with disabilities by transforming their personal dogs into highly skilled service animals - All at no-cost to the individual. Our program ensures that individuals can focus on building a strong bond, with their canine companions, fostering independence, confidence and enhanced quality of life.
But we couldn't do it without the support of our local community and donors.
Originally founded by a small group of veterans, 4 Paws 4 A Cause has grown to include a diverse team of volunteers and board members, such as philanthropists, educators, marketers, motorcycle enthusiasts, Christians, lawyers, and nurses.
Above all, we are passionate animal lovers united by a shared commitment to giving back to our local community.
A service dog is trained with a specific set of skills to support a person with disabilities in ways that can dramatically improve their quality of life. These dogs aren’t just companions—they’re vital tools that make it possible for individuals to safely and confidently navigate a world that might otherwise be inaccessible to them. Whether it’s helping someone with mobility issues retrieve dropped items, alerting a person who is deaf to important sounds, or providing grounding support during a panic attack, service dogs empower their handlers to live more independently.
All individuals are required to attend weekly classes with their dog and work to become a fully functional team. Each dog and its handler are trained for Exceptional Obedience, Public Access Training, and Post Certification Skills.
