Lonesome Dove Church - A Canadian Western Film

    Lonesome Dove Church is a 2014 Canadian Western film directed by Terry Miles and starring Tom Berenger and Greyston Holt. The film is loosely based on the true story of the founding of the Lonesome Dove Church in Grapevine, Texas, by John Shepherd, a former outlaw who became a preacher.

    Plot

    The film follows John Shepherd (Tom Berenger), a notorious gunslinger who is haunted by his past and seeks redemption. He decides to leave his criminal life behind and start a new one as a preacher. He travels to Texas with his estranged son Isaac (Greyston Holt), who is also wanted by the law. Along the way, they encounter various dangers and challenges, such as bounty hunters, bandits, and hostile natives. They also meet Nancy (Nicole Oliver), a widow who runs a boarding house and offers them shelter. John eventually finds a piece of land where he builds a church and gathers a congregation of outcasts and sinners. However, his past catches up with him when Butch Henley (Alex Zahara), his former partner in crime, arrives in town with a gang of outlaws and threatens to destroy everything John has built.
