Who we are 3rd Hindley Scout Group is a youth charity regulated as a member of The Scout Association. We are committed to protecting your personal data and processing it in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR.

Online Scout Manager (OSM): This is our primary membership database. It is used to track progress, plan events, and store medical/contact information securely.
Google Workspace (Gmail/Drive): We use Google’s secure cloud services for email communication and storing administrative documents (e.g., meeting minutes or event planning).
WhatsApp: We may use WhatsApp groups for quick communication and updates with parents/leaders. We do not share sensitive medical or personal files via WhatsApp.
Sharing your data We do not sell your data. We only share it when necessary for Scouting purposes:
The Scout Association (UK HQ): For census, insurance, and safeguarding requirements.
Event Organisers: Limited information (e.g., dietary needs) may be shared with campsite or event coordinators.
Emergency Services: In the rare event of a medical emergency.
Images and Publicity We often take photos to showcase Scouting activities on our website or social media. We operate on a consent basis (usually managed via OSM). If you ask us not to use photos of your child, we will respect that.
