Step 1

How to label your sketchbook:

  1. Use a Sharpie that will show up on your sketchbook.

  2. In the upper left corner write your full name (Optional: underneath write your nickname in quotes if you use one).

  3. Under your name write, "Code:" and then your class code.

Find your class code on your Google Classroom page.

Step 2

How to use your sketchbook:

  1. Start on the first or second page.

  2. Use the pages in order, don't skip around

  3. Try to use the whole page

  4. Don't tear out or scribble out mistakes

  5. Use your sketchbook for notes, assignments, and free drawing

What is pattern? & Sketchbook Challenge:

  1. Pattern: a repeated form or design.

  2. Make a tic-tac-toe board

  3. Fill each square with a different pattern (Optional: color them if you like).

Step 5

Plan your alebrije:

  1. Decide on three (or more) animals to combine.

  2. Draw your idea using the whole page.

  3. Label your alebrije's parts.

  4. Add three patterns.

  5. If you like your drawing, add color.

  6. If your don't like your drawing turn the page and try again.
