3D modelling is a technique in computer graphics for producing a 3D digital representation of any object or surface. An artist uses special software to manipulate points in virtual space (called vertices) to form a mesh: a collection of vertices that form an object. It is achieved by building a three-dimensional object using a computer-aided design (CAD) Software.
Here is a list of open source CAD Software that can be used to design a 3D Model.
Tinker CAD
CollabCAD (CollabCAD : Collaborative CAD Software )
Blender
Sketch-UP
3D Builder
Sculptris
FreeCAD
Autodesk 123D
Makehuman

We will be using TinkerCAD as open source CAD software to make designs in 3D.
