Adobe Flash Professional was renamed to Adobe Animate in 2016 to both more accurately reflect its market position then, since over a third of all content created in Animate uses HTML5, and prevent confusion between Adobe Flash Professional and Adobe Flash Player since they are completely different products. Adobe will continue to support Adobe Animate even after Flash Player's end-of-life deadline by 2020, hence all animations produced in Animate will survive Flash Player's death. The only change is that after 2020, animators will instead share their animations in either video, HTML5, or WebGL format. On June 16, 2020, as part of Adobe's 'Evolving Brand Identity', Adobe Animate unveiled a complete redesign of its logo in which for the first time in almost 20 years, the main color was changed from Red to Purple, ending any association of Flash entirely.

Adobe Flash animation production is enjoying considerable popularity in major animation studios around the world, as animators take advantage of the software's ability to organize a large number of assets (such as characters, scenes, movements, and props) for later re-use. Because Adobe Animate files are in vector file format, they can be used to transfer animation to 35 mm film without any compromise in image quality. In 2003, Big Idea Entertainment used Animate (back when it was called Flash) to make Larryboy: The Cartoon Adventures. This feature is used by several independent animators worldwide, including Phil Nibbelink, who saw his 77-minute feature film Romeo & Juliet: Sealed with a Kiss released in theaters in 2006, and Nina Paley, who released Sita Sings the Blues in 2008. For Disneyland's 50 Magical Years film featuring Live action Steve Martin interacting with Donald Duck, the hand drawn animation of Donald Duck was cleaned up and colored in Flash. The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!, a straight-to-DVD feature of the animated series Drawn Together, produced by Comedy Central and released in April 2010, discarded the series' traditional animation and used Flash animation instead.

There are a number of other software packages available that can create output in the .swf format.[10] Among these are Vyond, Toon Boom, Xara Photo & Graphic Designer, Serif DrawPlus, Toufee, Express Animator, CelAction 2D and Moho. These front-ends often provide additional support for creating cartoons, especially with tools more tailored to traditionally trained animators, as well as additional rigging for characters, which can speed up character animation considerably.

Toon Boom is a dream come true for an animator who has spent years battling with Flash to do the simplest things. The brush tool alone won me over, and shortly after I did this quick simple cartoon to celebrate my discovery:

I am against flash too. personally it causes headaches. If used correctly than it can be amazing to use. looking at shows like wakfu, which is a french animated film animated entirely in flash, with after effects for compositing it shows what flash can do if used right.

however schools should really avoid teaching flash to beginners. from my course a lot of people relied heavily on flashes tools to do the animating for them when it should be the last thing they use.

I have pre-ordered the new book from former Disney animator Adam Phillips on Toon Boom Harmony, and since he worked with Flash for so long I think it will offer a lot of insights to we previously-Flash-users. You can find out more about it here: -Harmony-Independent-Animators-Guide/dp/0415705371/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1403732941&sr=1-1

Yeah, all I got is that is that I should uninstall flash because there is a limit in the number of frames, and a few bugs (which are going to happen), and that I will be faster at learning if I learn a new program that I have no knowledge of.

I think you are doing Great work and education. I'm not an animator myself, more a 'constructivist' with AnimateCC, but I watched your video part 2 about joints and I have to say it is briliantly made and entertaining.

I just found this link since I was having the same problem after the Windows 10 Creators Update Vesion 1703 even though it says Windows 8, 8.1 it still works for Windows 10. Side note if you already have the box checked that's in the link I left below then uncheck it then recheck it then hit apply & now when you use the Windows button plus PrnScr you will see a flash it worked out for me. Here's the link. -the-screen-does-not-dim-when-you-take-a-screenshot-using-winprintscreen-in-windows-8-1-or-windows-8/

Considering interactive apps are really the only place for flash formats, I would say that you should stick to After Effects. That way you can control the export options that make compression ratios an actual topic. Import Photoshop and Illustrator elements with ease. I would also imagine that After Effects formats play nicer with Premiere projects in case you have a director that uses it as part of his/her workflow.

How can I disable the gnome-screenshot 'camera flash' animation (fade from black)? I've already disabled the camera shutter sound with sudo mv /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo/camera-shutter.oga /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo/camera-shutter-disabled.oga. There doesn't seem to be a setting for this in the Dconf editor (under /org/gnome/gnome-screenshot).

Unfortunately there is no option to disable this... I was looking for working tool to grab screen for Ubuntu Focal (previously I've used scrot but it stopped to work, right now only gnome-screenshot is still dumping screen content to file but with annoying flash). So I've recompiled sources from -screenshot

Motion tweens tends to produce smaller file sizes, and they tend to be easier to produce. If you have a choice between using either shape or motion tweens, it's generally better to go for motion tweens, and use shape tweens as sparingly as you can. Having said that, shape tweens give the experienced animator more control. Motion tweens allow you to make the subtle animated changes that add emotion and expression to characters, such as changes in facial expression during speech, or subtle body movements during walking.

6.You can now create the keyframes for your animation. The way this method of animation works (tweening) is by you creating keyframes (the frames with the little black dots on them) and on those frames setting the important positions of your shape. Then when you apply a motion tween, flash will fill in the frames between the keyframes for you. So the first keyframe, we have the box at the left side of the stage. To make a second keyframe at frame 20, click on the frame and press F6 to create a new keyframe. Then click on frame 40 to create another keyframe. Since we want the box to go back and forth we are going to want the middle keyframe to have to box at the right side of the stage. So click on the keyframe and move the box to the right side of the screen. Now your 3 keyframes should have the box on the left, then on the right, and the final one on the left again.

7. Now we want flash to fill in the frames between our keyframes so that we get an animation. (1) Right click on each keyframe in the Blue Box layer and choose: Create Motion Tween. If you have done everything right the frames should turn blue with a little arrow (2).

With the paint brush tool, Alan Becker creates victim, who accidentally gains life and turns against his creator. Alan uses the flash pen to create weapons for the fight: a plasma gun, a frame cannon, a sword (which he discarded shortly after) and a shurikane. (Animator vs. Animation). He later used the brush tool again when creating The Chosen One and The Dark Lord. (Animator vs. Animation II & III)

The pencil icon was probably recreated by refreshing the damaged animation program. In Wanted, Orange uses it to draw weapons for himself and his friends in a playful fight against the animator, but they are defeated.

Agent pauses both of the heroes and has them transported to victim's headquarters, where the researchers test the flash pen. They are unable to replicate The Second Coming's animations. The Second Coming is later brought into the test area. He is told to draw an eel in his own fashion, and succeeds. (Animator vs. Animation VI)

Sitting in her 10-square-meter study decorated with carved stones, Han Dynasty tiles and old-style bookshelves, Bu Hua is absorbed at her computer, accompanied by lullabies. She hardly looks like an avant-garde web animator, or "Shan Ke" in Chinese, who has mastered the latest Macromedia Flash vector graphics software and inspired a huge following on the Internet with her allegoric works.

Flash's predecessor, FutureSplash Animator, was introduced to China in 1997 and soon attracted many cartoon lovers with its maneuverable techniques and comparatively low cost. The phrase Shan Ke was coined by Gao Dayong in the winter of 1999 when he founded flashempire.com, the first Chinese personal website to showcase web animations.

Between June and November 2002, a series of print-style works appeared on flashempire.com, including The Heart, Puppet Show, Cat, Unsteadiness and Summer Midnight Dream. Audiences were shocked by the depth of the stories, arrested by the painting style and extremely interested in their creator, Bu Hua.

According to flashempire.com, this 5-minute animation got a record 633,451 clicks and thousands of reviews. It won Bu Hua the Best New Director Award at the 2003 China Qingdao International Animation Week and runner-up prize at the Second Intel Digital Originality Contests, and was short-listed by the 2004 Annecy International Animation Festival in France. The story has also been published on paper this April, the first of its kind in China.

Bu Hua's success has helped popularize animation production. In the past five years, the number of web animators in China soared from dozens to millions. Some signed contracts with advertising companies, whilst some made them just for entertainment. Bu Hua chose to be freelance, spending most of her time on her own creations, but still doing some commercial work. 589ccfa754
