39 NORTH GREAT GEORGES STREET

No 39 North Great Georges Street was built in 1790 by Henry Darley on land leased from the Archdall family. The first occupant was Lord Headfort of Headfort House, Kells, Co. Meath and afterwards his first cousin Stephen Moore MP, of Barne Park, Clonmell. The house is decorated in the neoclassical style popularised by the Adam brothers.The drawing rooms, entrance hall and stairhall have extensive plasterwork in the style of Charles Thorpe. There is ongoing restoration in the house and the opportunity to see various stages of work.
