Vision C was created by MamboTND, who took Vision A's rules and format and inspiration from Vision B to create a balanced Weather/Terrain Wars by adding 1 to 3 moves and/or abilities to most of the cast. Some Pokémon are designated Weather/Terrain auto-setters, while others took advantage of the weather or terrains with unique typing, abilities, or moves to make the most of the theme in Vision C. Additionally, there are other Pokémon who are simply good overall for the health of this Vision. This unique pool of 35 Pokémon with some fine tuning has enabled the meta to flourish with many playstyles and archetypes to excel, it rewards those who are willing to invest I the team-building and battling through the many different interactions. Let's begin with the main Pokémon of the Vision, Auto-Setters.
- Gogoat now has the ability Grassy Surge. This combos well with its Grass Typing, giving it a boost to Grass-Type attacks while also enabling Grassy Glide, a Grass-Type attack that gains priority under Grassy Terrain. Grassy Terrain also heals it and all ground Pokémon in the field, while reducing the damage output of Earthquake which some partners appreciate. Gogoat naturally has great bulk with high HP and SpDef, this allows Gogoat to be a Support Pokémon to setup Grassy Terrain, tank special attacks, special those being boosted by other Terrains, and deal damage with Grass-Type STAB.
- Klingklang now has the ability Electric Surge and learns the move Spikes. Klingklang is now given the opportunity to be a great support Pokémon that setups Spikes and Electric Terrain while also using Toxic and pivoting with Volt Switch. Combined with Electric Terrain, Klingklang can also assume an offensive role with Shift Gear and Electric Terrain boosting Wild Charge or even Rising Voltage for Special sets. Klingklang is often paired with Raichu-Alola or Rotom-Frost who now has Refrigerate, making Rotom-Frost grounded and able to use Rising Voltage and gain the boost to Electric-Type attacks.
- Lickilicky now has the ability Misty Surge and learns the move Stealth Rocks. Lickilicky is an odd Pokémon in this pool at first glance but in reality can serve multiple roles when built correctly. Cloud Nine allows Lickilicky to withstand Pokémon looking to break through teams with Weather-Boosted attacks like Magcargo under the Sun, or Wailord under Rain. In the other hand, Misty Surge allows Lickilicky to change the Terrain and prevent other Terrain abusers from break through your teams like Raichu-Alola, Dhelmise, Exeggutor, and more. Misty Surge also has the added benefit of making grounded Pokémon immune to status conditions, this makes Stall and Hyper both survive longer and prevents them from being burned or paralyzed. Nature Power also becomes into Moonblast which is great for those looking for Fairy-Type attack coverage.
- Solrock is the Psychic Surge Pokémon of C1. Considered the least viable from all 4 Terrain setters, Solrock has struggled to make its mark. This comes with fact that it has a hard time staying around and fulfilling any other role besides setting Psychic, maybe setting Stealth Rocks, or having a sloppy setup with Dragon Dance/Victory Dance. One set seems to show promise, Psychic Surge + Psychic Seed + Victory Dance/Acrobatics/Stone Edge/Earthquake). This set allows a boosted Solrock threaten any of the other Terrain setters with supereffective hits or a high damage Stone Edge.
Let's move on to the Weather Setter.
- Magcargo started with a BANG with multiple sets and roles fulfilled. Drought + Shell Smash is a force to be reckoned with that forced Special Walls in most teams to have the criteria of walling this set. Although the meta adapted to Shell Smash sets, Magcargo still keeps its versatility as it has access to Reflect/Light Screen, Recover, Stealth Rocks, Sun boosted Lava Plume.
- Palossand is a great wall that can setup Stealth Rocks while setting Sandstorm with Sand Stream which also boosts the healing power of Shore Up. Palossand can opt for Tank build with max SpAtk Modest nature to have high damage output in favorable situations like in the face of Togedemaru, Weezing, and Klingklang. Palossand can also choose to avoid Sand Stream and use Water Compaction to become a better Medicham switch in as Jet Punch threatens a major part of the meta.
- Lumineon is mostly used for setting up Rain with Drizzle and removing hazards with Defog all while having access to both Flip Turn and U-Turn. Although Lumineon isn't as immediately as other Weather/Terrain setters, it makes up for it by enhancing a large sleuth of offensive Pokémon like Swift Swim Relicanth, Hurricane Mothim, Jet Punch Medicham, Dry Skin Toxicroak/Jynx boosting Surf on Raichu-Alola.
- Delibird, arguably the least successful of all Weather/Terrain setters, uses Snow Warning to activate Aurora Veil and gain perfectly accurate Blizzard. Delibird has untapped potential and could at some point enable the right Hyper Offense team or even Bulky Offense teams. For the meantime, Delibird has been boosting Pokémon like Slush Rush Granbull, Blizzard Mothim, Rotom-Frost.
Let's wrap things up with some non-weather/terrain dependent Pokémon in the C1 Meta.
Guzzlord with access to Earth Eater and Stealth Rocks has turned up to be quite the top threat. Guzzlord often comes in on Palossand as it resists Shadow Ball and is immune to Earth Power/Scorching Sands and proceeds to threaten with a Knock Off. Guzzlord also takes advantage of high HP and SpDef investment to wall Pokémon like Shell Smash Magcargo, Scarf Haunter, Eruption Camerupt, Water Spout Wailord, and more specifically Raichu-Alola. Hitmontop is the most used Pokémon in the meta with 46% usage, this is thanks to great bulk, access to both Intimidate to weaken Physical sweepers and Rapid Spin to remove hazards. Hitmontop also is able to hit all the Ghost-Types that try to block the Rapid Spin with Triple Axel which is supereffective against Dhelmise and Palossand, and Haunter lacks physical bulk so its not welcoming the strong ice move. Wigglytuff is an excellent support thanks to Regenerator keeping it healthy and providing multiple safe entry with Teleport/Baton Pass combo'd with Wish coming off the massive base 140 HP stat. Wigglytuff also carries Fleur Cannon, Stealth Rock, and Knock Off.
