You can find us at the 32nd Ipswich Scout Group Headquarters, Stoke Park Drive, Ipswich, IP2 9TH. Our members are from the local and wider Ipswich area.
We are a friendly diverse group with nearly 70 members across all sections ranging from Squirrels up to Young Leaders (ages 4-18), all supported by a dedicated team of leaders.
We provide Skills For Life as part of the Scout Association's vision between now and 2025 to provide young people with skills for life, supporting them in their personal development, and empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.
The group was founded on the 30th of September in 1975 at St Peter's Church with a contingent of 12 Cubs, 12 Scouts, and five leaders.
The group immediately had success and in 1979 had grown in number so much that the church was too small to fit everyone in. To enable the group to continue to grow, a dedicated headquarters was fundraised for and built next door, being officially opened on the 7th of February, 1981 and is still in use today.
In 1982, the group started an Explorers Section (then Venture Scouts) which is now our current Young Leader Unit.
In 1986, we started our Beaver Colony to provide scouting for younger children and prepare them for the existing Cub Pack.
In 2024, we opened a Squirrel Drey to enable the youngest of people to enjoy the benefits of Scouting.
On the 30th of September 2025 the group celebrated it's 50th birthday, with all sections running at capacity.
