Our Story
Mark & Greer Knox both grew up with a legacy of Farming and Ranching. Mark grew up in Coleman, Texas where his family settled in the mid 1800's. As a child, some of his fondest memories were learning the family trade from his Dad, Aunt and Uncles. Mark graduated from Texas A&M in 2003 with a degree in Agricultural Development. He worked on game ranch in south Texas for a while, then to a dude ranch in Colorado, and ended up working at the Pines Catholic Camp where he began his career in Catholic youth, young adult and campus ministry. Mark and Greer met in Richardson, Texas the summer of 2005 on the front steps of church. After a few dates, Mark realized this "city girl" had farming roots too! Greer's dad grew up farming and ranching in Minnesota before he and his wife moved down to Texas.
In 2020, Mark's family sold property that had been in his family for 150 years. As tough as this was, it opened the doors for Mark and Greer to forge their own path. After purchasing their little herd of cattle, the whole family fell in love with the adventure in front of them.
Our hope is to bring together our love for Jesus Christ, our desire to serve others, and our gift for hospitality to create a beautiful place for our children, and visitors to reconnect and enjoy.
Our ranch is located in Anderson, Texas.
Our Brand:
Mark 4:2-8 tells the story of the sower and the seeds: When the seed fell on the rich soil, "it yielded 30, 60 and 100 fold." We didn't quite feel we could claim 100 fold, so 30 it is!
We also raise Scottish Highlands. A group of Highlands are also called a "Fold" not a herd.
We exist to Love our neighbors as ourselves and to faithfully live out the beatitudes. Starting this endeavor has been our "yes" to something much bigger than ourselves.
