Chapter 8, "Computer Reliability," does not apply. Deep Web is a documentary and doesn't leave much of the technological subjects up to interpretation. All that can briefly be touched on is Bitcoin and Tor, which, due to their decentralized nature, have slightly increased reliability compared to a centralized competitor. However, since most bitcoin miners and tor routers run the same client software, they're still susceptible to bugs and glitches. Decentralization helps protect against hardware failures, such as a single node being exploited, assuming the exploit isn't a result of the underlying client software.
