30 Days of Night is a three-issue horror comic book miniseries written by Steve Niles, illustrated by Ben Templesmith, and published by American company IDW Publishing in 2002. All three parties co-own the property.

The series takes place in Barrow, Alaska, so far north that during the winter, the sun does not rise for 30 days. In the series, vampires, being vulnerable to sunlight, take advantage of the prolonged darkness to openly kill the townspeople and feed at will.

Vampires flock to Barrow, Alaska, where the sun sets for about 30 days, allowing them to feed without the burden of sleep to avoid lethal sunlight. When the vampire elder Vicente learns of this plan, he travels to Barrow to end the feeding, to preserve the secrecy of vampires. Because of the cold, the vampires' senses are weakened and a few of the town's residents are able to hide. One such resident is Sheriff Eben Olemaun, who saves the town by injecting vampire blood into his veins. He uses his enhanced strength to fight Vicente, saving the lives of the few remaining townspeople, including his wife Stella. Suffering the same weakness as all vampires, Eben allows himself to die and turns to ash when the sun rises.

30 Days of Night was originally published as several miniseries of 22-page comic books from IDW Publishing. These single issues are now collected in several trade paperbacks, as well as hardcover collections.

Fleeing the site of a secondary vampire infestation in the cold wilds of Alaska, a band of survivors arrive at a climate change facility during the final days of a long period of extended daylight. The inhabitants of the research compound are trying to determine the nature of a strange object found in the ice when the survivors arrive, leading to a frightening and bloody confrontation between humans and vampires and an odd and unexpected guest. Written by Joe R. Lansdale and drawn by Sam Kieth.

Anyone has read all of the 30 Days of Night comics or at least the majority of them? I have read the first two volumes which were great but I'm curious whats the rest of the comics about? Do they continue the original story? Any other 30 Days of Night comic from the whole series (apart the first two) that you suggest me to read and is considered good?

Published by IDW in 2002, 30 Days of Night is a three-issue horror comic book series written by Steve Niles (The October Faction) and illustrated by Ben Templesmith. Multiple miniseries followed, as well as novels and movie (and audio) adaptations. It did in fact become a movie after Niles wrote the comic version of the unsuccessful film pitch he had developed.

You know its funny, I never read the graphic novels, but the movie wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I love me a good vampire movie, but it seemed kinda flat. And if I remember (its been a while since I watched it) there wasn't much indication of how much time had passed other then the random comment. It just didn't seem to last 30 days.

But I guess it was spooky on some level... I had watched it alone at night and every tiny sound made me jump when I tried to go to bed ;) I'll have to give the novels a read through! :) And check out 'Near Dark' as well! :D

Eben was the Sheriff of Barrow, Alaska. Barrow is the northernmost settlement of North America, and is a place where the average temperatures are below zero. The unique thing about Barrow is that they have continuous sunshine between May 10th and August 2nd. They also have 30 days of continuous knight in the winter when the sun sets on November 18 and doesn't rise again until December 17th, an aspect of the town that would peak the interest of the un-dead. Eben worked with his wife, Stella Olemaun, managing the law and order of their small town.

Then in Eben and Stella (which takes place after Dark days but comes out after Return to Barrow) goes through the series of events that brings the good vampire couple back together. Then in Return To Barrow he is shown in the shadows as the savior of the small town Barrow, Alaska as vampires once again try to assault it.

Welcome to Barrow, Alaska. This small, secluded town is located so far north that in the winter there is a span of thirty days when the sun does not rise above the horizon. Usually this is only a minor inconvenience to the residents, but this year, the dead of winter will become a terrifying fight for survival.

Every truly popular music act gets to appear in at least one movie, whether it's a documentary, concert film, vanity vehicle (Crossroads), veiled biopic (8 Mile), or something else entirely (Labyrinth). As big a band as any in history, The Beatles naturally received multiple opportunities to make their mark on cinema. The first came in 1964's A Hard Day's Night, a comedy casting the Fab Four as themselves, or at least versions of themselves intended to entertain.Filmed over seven weeks about a month after their historic appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show", Hard Day's Night opens with the four young men evading the young, predominantly female screaming masses who follow them around. With Beatlemania at its height on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, such fanfare isn't mere invention, which is why any other crowd-drawing celebrity is still likened to these four mop-topped Liverpudlian lads.John, Paul, George, and Ringo, then all in their early twenties, make it onto a train, where they are joined by Paul's heartbroken "other" grandfather (Wilfrid Brambell), a "little old man" everyone notices is "very clean." The boys are a playful lot, chasing girls and cheating at cards. Grandpa is even more of a troublemaker, forging signatures and prompting Ringo to take up artsy photography mere hours before the band is scheduled to perform for television.Hard Day's Night is something of a mockumentary, providing a comic, self-deprecating look at the lives of these pop sensations. Each of the boys gets their own material: John plays in a bathtub, George trashes teen clothing and television, Ringo endures cracks about his nose. There is fun with fake wigs and beards. And, of course, there are songs, scattered throughout the film. One hardly needs to say anything about the music. So widely known and loved are The Beatles that it's almost impossible to judge them objectively or say anything meaningful about their creations. Because of that enduring legacy, this movie assumes greater weight than it has to. It's really a light, fluffy piece of entertainment. Diverting moments, there are a few. Still, the whole thing wraps up in less than 90 minutes and that's with multiple songs being played multiple times.Hand-picked by the boys, director Richard Lester, a young American expatriate who had dabbled in British television for a decade, chooses a style befitting the young, exciting stars. Though this is in black and white, somewhat surprisingly, it is full of inventive camerawork: aerial photography, close-ups, pans, zooms, and other camera tricks. The presentation breathes some life into the song performances, though not enough to sustain interest of those few who would dare claim to actively dislike The Beatles' music. The unmistakable blueprint for "The Monkees", A Hard Day's Night remains frothy fun that inevitably is considered a fundamental part of perhaps the most significant cultural institution of the entire 20th century. Nominated for two Oscars (original screenplay and the since-retired best adapted score), the film celebrates the 50th anniversary of its original theatrical release this summer with admission into The Criterion Collection, who assign it spine #711 in a single-disc DVD and the one-Blu-ray, two-DVD Dual-Format Edition reviewed here. 2351a5e196
