what motivation?
jk, I created this game because I always wanted to do so ever since I started learning Python, and as a celebration for passing the ITS (a test that tests your basic python skills) I decided to finally do it.
Another motivation is from the original youtube series with the same name, discontinued because the lack of quality I get from the amount of time I spent on the series (3 months for a random animation that can be done by a 3 year old)
also just because well, it's cool, and it's pretty rewarding when something finally works :D
unfortunately I'm unable to do that yet as I'm still building the base codebase and haven't gotten on building actual levels
however, the end concept isn't all that interesting: you walk around, talk to NPCs, beat small puzzles, and some bullet hell elements.
mainly I just want to first build a game as practice, and then work on fancy mechanics maybe for future games.
warning: wall of text
No Taiwan isn't part of China (don't fight me please), no I'm not from Vietnam, yes I'm Taiwanese, yes both my parents are Taiwanese, no I speak Chinese as my main language and use it more, no I HAVE NEVER STUDIED IN THE USA (stop asking!), no I have never studied in any other English speaking country, I have been in Taiwan for my entire fucking life, I learned English because of bilingual kindergarten (with the worst possible environment you can give to a kid) and through cram school (got bullied there, sad), no I didn't learn English through watching English videos or talking to foreigners, I use English only when there isn't a Traditional Chinese option and/or only have Simplified Chinese (they're different!), I design with English because there are more fonts available, same thing with my game, no programming does not improve your English, yes school English feels weird, yes I do well in English class and I DO pay attention in it, yes I might do a Chinese version of 2 Worlds, adding more here later
I started programming because of a summer camp, yes learned most of the stuff myself, yes I passed ITS certification with a borderline passing score, yes I know most people in the programming community are male I'M NOT BLIND, no I'm used to sitting in a classroom full of guys not that it matters, no school programming club is shit, no my IT teacher at school didn't teach me anything, yes classmates at school know I code, no I can't make a mobile app for you, no I'm not making a game for you (unless you pay me then we'll talk), yes I might learn another language, no I can't hack your pc unless you're stupid enough to run code from ANYONE without verifying what it is
yes I play rhythm games, yes I'm currently a low 5 digit in osu!mania 4k, yes I like arcade rhythm games but bad at them, no I don't play mobile ones they suck, not a fan of pjsekai because of the gacha system, I'm not going to explain that page on my phone with only rhythm games, no pattern recognition != fast reaction speed, MY SCROLL SPEED IS NOT THAT FAST, won't say rhythm game improves your sense of rhythm
