"Falling in Love" is a song by South Korean girl group 2NE1, released on July 8, 2013 by YG Entertainment. The song was produced by the group's long-time collaborator Teddy, and was co-written by him and Choice37. Musically, "Falling in Love" is a breezy K-pop song that contains elements of reggae, electronic and hip hop.[1][2][3] The music video was uploaded to the group's official YouTube channel the day before.[1]

A snippet of the track was first used as the intro of 2NE1's comeback stage for "I Love You" on SBS' Inkigayo a year prior on July 8, 2012, with CL rapping a verse in English.[1][4][5] On June 18, 2013, YG Entertainment announced that the group would make a comeback in early July, making it the group's first release in a year, with the reggae-themed "Falling in Love" as the title. YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk stated, "Although it is a new genre challenge, the unique colors and strengths of the group that 2NE1 has given are intact [sic]. It will be loved by enthusiasts and the public by adding work with new overseas choreographers." The agency also unveiled initial plans for the release of a new single every month leading up to a new album in October.[6] The single was subsequently released for digital download and streaming on July 8, 2013 by YG Entertainment.[7]

The accompanying music video was uploaded to the group's official YouTube channel in conjunction with the release of the single, and reached more than one million views in less than a day.[10] The video includes the members singing and performing the track's choreography on various sets, including luxurious Egyptian-themed palace with a swimming pool, a sandy beach, and a tropical-urban gold-embellished street with basketball courts.[8] The music video was deemed a change of pace from the group's usual brash energy, and was considered more laid back and relaxed with a sense of urban flair. Model and actors Lee Soo-hyuk and Hong Jong-hyun made cameos in the video.[11]

Promotions for the song featured 2NE1 appearing on various South Korean music programs during the month of July, including SBS' Inkigayo, Mnet's M Countdown, and MBC's Show! Music Core.[12] The group was originally slated to make their comeback stage on Inkigayo on July 7, 2013, but the show was cancelled because of the Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash that occurred the day before.[13][14] The single instead debuted on M Countdown on July 11, 2013.[14] The song received three first place music program wins during the course of its promotion.

Feedjit lies! I am not from hoboken, nor am i from brooklyn, lol. i've been meaning to comment lately (this is one of my favorite blogs, not gonna lie), but yeah, i'm trying to fix my computer myself. and ugh...work... XD My boss tells me I need more initiative, but what in the world does that mean? I never know what to do b/c I never know what he wants to work on next, I swear, it's like, different every day. At least it's income though, right? *is totally psyched for the taobao how to as well* anyway, thanks for the tutorial; you take such lovely shots, and it really brings out your eyes. need to find myself a reasonably priced 88 palette though, i'm very limited on colors. i did do a mini(scule) haul recently, and got that majolica majorca lash expander frame plus. all of these tutorials have gotten me addicted to makeup.

Aww thanks so much for your support! < You can get the 88 palette on ebay, just search up "88 palette" and you should get lots of them! They go for around $10-$15 so definitely worth it! I love the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander mascara! one of my favourites!

2NE1 has always been hailed as the fashion renegades of the k-pop realm and this video really backed that talk up. The visuals for this release are stunningly subdued. Dark, pale colors give way to stark, deeper ones as scenes transition and I just love the outfits that 2NE1 wore in this release.

All in all, I loved the contrasting elements in this music video, especially when you get gorgeous shots where dawn is being veiled behind translucent curtains, resulting in very angelic, pastel lighting, which contrasts with darker, gloomier grays that are given off by the cement walls and decrepit setting.

I am nerdy, techie and inquisitive at heart. I love reading books, exploring new places and tinkering my camera and other gadgets. Every now and then, I also like to sing in different languages, watch Asian shows till the wee hours of the morning and get lost in thoughts while observing people and figuring out the world.

2NE1 got its start three years ago, when South Korean music label YG Entertainment put the girls together to form a pop group characterized by bold, bright outfits and big, catchy hooks punctuated by rap verses and an in-your-face swagger seemingly borrowed from U.S.-based hip-hop acts like Nicki Minaj, with whom 2NE1 recently appeared in an Adidas commercial.

That said, I am totally open to recommendations for all kinds of music. I focus on pop music because its music videos are usually the most 'cinematic', so there's more to think about in terms of how the visuals of the music video 'sell' the song. I'll be interested to know if other music videos for other genres do the same.

Crayon Pop's MV demonstrates how important music videos are to the K-Pop genre - while the music itself may be good workout music or jogging music, the bulk of the impact comes from the visuals and music working together

On the whole, the girls' voices are super high and rather thin as a chorus. It just doesn't dominate the ear like you'd want a song like Bar Bar Bar to do. I'm not sure if it's because the music is too soft, because the song's key is too high for them or because their voices are inherently thinner. They need a more full-bodied sound if they want to be doing shouting chantsCrayon Pop's schtick is apparently being more left-field to distinguish them from the bajillion other K-pop girl groups and, on that front, I find them refreshingly different. The song itself comes across sounding like an exercise/workout anthem so it's nice to see them in sporty-looking styling and shoes that they can actually dance in. It would have been great to see them pull some more exaggerated expressions so they matched the energy of the sound and lyricsThe bold graphic designs, colours and helmets certainly establishes a distinct aesthetic. It's a good thing they kept the form of the clothes relatively simple to stop the girls from looking too juvenile but they do look very young and very much 'new gen' idol group haha 11AM & INCREDIBLE TEASER (JUNSU)

I don't have much to say about this. I have no idea why LOEN is 'hosting' the release but I hope it gets Junsu more visibility (and bless them for providing the English subtitles). It's a lovely song - relaxing, melodic and simple to listen to, and highlights the cleanness of Junsu's voice.

2ne1 is different from other Korean girl groups, which tend to alternate between being overly sexy or adorably cute and girly. 2ne1, on the other hand, has successfully stayed away from both of those tropes. Instead, they show themselves as both edgy and classy. This is reflected in their fashion and appearance too, which strays from the conventional look. Unfortunately, because of their difference, the members have been called ugly, even by their own director (shame on him).

"Do You Love Me" is a song by South Korean girl group 2NE1. The single was digitally released on August 7, 2013 and its music video was released the following day.[1][2] The song, produced by YG Entertainment's main producer Teddy, is said to be very representative of 2NE1's electro-pop style.[3] The song's musical qualities parallel those of 2NE1's most well-known track "I Am the Best", released two years prior.

After ending "Falling in Love" promotions in July 2013, 2NE1 announced "Do You Love Me" as their next monthly single. In addition, the members of 2NE1 would be filming the song's upcoming music video themselves.

2NE1 appeared on Korean music shows M! Countdown, Music Bank, and Inkigayo to perform the song live. Their live performance of "Do You Love Me" on KBS's Music Bank was their first on the show in three years since its entertainment agency ceased relationships with KBS following a dispute.[4]

In addition, the group ran a "Do You Love Me Lip Video" video. Fans were to use clips of the members' "lip videos" to make fun videos mimicking the music video. The Top 6 winners' videos can be seen here.

Beyond music, Blackpink also has a sizeable filmography for a group of their age, starting with the variety show Blackpink House in 2018, followed by multiple tour documentaries made by the group or by outside directors, from Blackpink Diaries in 2019 and 24/365 with Blackpink in 2020 that can be found on their YouTube channel or on the South Korean streaming service V Live, to a cameo on YG Future Strategy Office and Blackpink: Light Up the Sky on Netflix, to Blackpink: The Movie which was released in August 2021. 0852c4b9a8
